〝有機農業の里"として知られる埼玉県小川町は、山と川に囲まれた自然豊かな里山です。都心から電車で１時間強という恵まれた立地のため、東京からもたくさんの人が農業体験に訪れています。

 

小川町では、1971年から有機農業を営む金子美登さんの「霜里農場」を中心に、多くの有機農家が農薬や化学肥料を使わない農業に取り組んでいます。

 

大豆、小麦、米などの穀物のほか、トマト、ニンジン、唐辛子など、調味料の材料となる野菜が、土壌微生物が豊かな大地で育まれています。
 

大豆は「おがわ青山在来」という在来種。とても甘く、みそやしょうゆに加工すると、とびきりの味に熟成されます。
